Farmer Jan
Farmer Jan was born on the Duinzoomhoeve. His father had a number of cows and an arable farm with potatoes, beets and onions. Jan and Mary spent the first ten years of their marriage at Mary’s parental home. When Grandpa Romar’s health deteriorated, Jan and Mary moved to Julianadorp and took over the company. They rebuilt the farm and made the land suitable for bulb growing. Jan has farmed several flowet bulbs: tulips, of course, but also daffodils, anemones, dahlias, crocuses, lilies and hyacinths. We currently grow tulips and hyacinths. With our seventeen hectares, we are a small-scale company compared to the other farmers in the Noordkop region. That is why we try to be unique in our special varieties. In the months of April and May you can enjoy the flower bulb fields in full bloom!
